COMMUNITY groups
Our Community Groups are small groups of 8-16 people who meet on a weekly basis, usually at a group member's home, but also in the church building and other community places, to study Scripture together and learn how to apply biblical principles to their daily lives. On the last Wednesday of every month, all Community Groups meet at the church for a combined potluck meal together!
Why are Community Groups important?
Building a deeper relationship with God and our church family is essential to our growth as disciples. By participating in a Community Group, you have the opportunity to grow closer to God and others by discussing God's Word, caring for one another, and participating in service opportunities. After all, Abbot EFC is much more than a building made of brick, wood, and steel - we are a fellowship of believers coming together to worship and bring glory to God, within the church and beyond.
How do I join a Community Group?
If you would like to attend one of these groups, have questions, or just need more information, please contact us and let us know! Or feel free to speak with Pastor Ryan or one of our Elders (Tom, John, or Gary) and they will work with you to connect you to a group that fits your availability and location.
"And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near." - Hebrews 10:24-25 (ESV).
Evening Home Groups meet every Wednesday at 6:30 pm except the last Wednesday of the month, which is a church potluck dinner at 6:00 pm.
